This 19th Century India Trade Rupee Silver Coin was authenticated by the Franklin Mint in 1997 and released as a part of their Millennium Coin Collection.
This coin is from the reign of Queen Victoria, an image of whom is displayed as the last picture for reference.
Guaranteed Authentic, this silver coin shows remarkable detail for being over 118 years old. One can still see the jewels in Victoria's crown in this splendid key date piece from 1900. This coin features the title 'Victoria Empress', rather than Queen, for British colonial India. The descriptive acrylic case is in excellent vintage condition with mild surface scratches which could be buffed out with an acrylic/Lucite cleaner, if desired. As designed for this style of coin holder, the coin moves freely within the gold ring, it's not fixed centered within it.
This coin is currently displayed upside down when viewed from the front, with the reverse side containing the date and floral design.
