This medal set was minted by the Medallic Art Company for the National Park Service in 1969 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Grand Canyon National Park's founding.  It includes silver and bronze medals displayed in a custom vintage Capital Plastics holder.

This iconic set was made by the preeminent private mint of the day to honor one of our greatest natural wonders, during the golden age of numismatics.  It's custom holder is designed by the leading display company of the era as well.

These medals are displayed in obverse and reverse fashion as is the tradition for mixed metal sets.  The silver medal displays a vista of Grand Canyon National park on the front of the display.  The bronze medal displays the reverse of both medals, which is the great seal of the state of Arizona.  This set is in remarkable condition for being over 50 years old, with only minor wear to the case.  It would be a great addition to any collection.

The last image is a picture of the grand canyon from a similar vantage point as the image on the back of the medal for reference.  The medalist did a fantastic job of capturing the grandeur of this amazing national treasure.
