This stunning piece is an original sterling silver silhouette by William Ressler issued by the Franklin Mint in limited edition in 1977. It displays a silver silhouette of Big Ben, the 16-story Gothic clock tower and national symbol, and the Eastern end of the Houses of Parliament in the city of London. In addition, their wavy reflection in the River Thames is captured to present a dreamlike Victorian cityscape.
The Clock Tower is one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and parliamentary democracy. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
This example is in it's original frame and backing, untouched on the interior since it's assembly. The acrylic cover has light scratching that could likely be buffed out with an acrylic/ Lucite cleaner if desired. There are some signs of aging within the framing commensurate with it's 42 years, but it displays magnificently overall. I've never seen another example of this work in comparable condition.
Frame Dimensions: Length 20 and 2/8 inches, Width 15 and 2/8 inches, Height 1 and 1/2 inches
